A bangle is a sturdy, round bracelet without links. Depending on the style, you slide it over your hand, slip it onto your wrist from the side or stretch it slightly. Bangles instantly add structure to your look: a slim, smooth bangle looks refined, while a wide statement bangle stands out straight away. At Lundholm you'll find open bangles and cuffs in gold-tone and silver-tone stainless steel, stretchy bangles and colourful statement bangles made from resin and acrylic. The collection also includes bangles with cubic zirconia, a heart or a natural stone.

Bangles for every style and occasion

For every day, a smooth open bangle like Ilva or Amira is a lovely choice: it's comfortable, easy to put on and goes with almost any outfit. At work, a sleek gold-tone bangle looks great with a blazer or a blouse with rolled-up sleeves. For a party, dinner or wedding, choose a bangle with sparkle, such as Fem with a cubic zirconia stone at each end, or Yael, a bangle covered in cubic zirconia stones in the style of a tennis bracelet. Love colour? The resin and acrylic statement bangles, such as Fleur, Nienke and May, give your outfit a playful, retro touch.

A bangle also makes a lovely gift. An open bangle or stretch bangle is one size, so you don't need to know the wrist size. Tammy has a knot detail and Lova a large heart: two styles with a sweet meaning. Find more ideas in our gifts for her.

Which types of bangles can you find at Lundholm?

Open bangles and cuffs: these bangles are open on one side, so they're easy to put on and you can make them slightly wider or narrower. Think of the smooth Ilva, the wavy Amira and Tammy with its knot, all made from premium stainless steel with a gold-tone finish.

Bangles with cubic zirconia: for anyone who loves a little shine. Fem is an open bangle with a cubic zirconia stone at each end. Yael is an adjustable bangle with cubic zirconia stones, in silver and gold tone.

Bangles with a heart or stone: Lova is a silver-tone bangle with a large, sculptural heart. Jol is an open bangle with a tiger's eye stone as its centrepiece.

Stretch bangles: Avril has a stretchy coil design and slips easily onto your wrist. Choose silver tone or gold tone.

Resin and acrylic statement bangles: wide, lightweight bangles with a glossy finish, often with a marble effect. Fleur and Nienke are made from resin, May from acrylic. They come in several colours, from pink and beige to brown, green and black.

How do you choose bangles that suit you?

Size and fit: open bangles and cuffs are one size and slightly adjustable: gently bend them a little wider or narrower until they fit well, and do this carefully and not too often. Stretch bangles move with your wrist. A closed bangle, such as Fleur and May, slides over your hand. Unsure about the size? Choose an open bangle or a stretch bangle; they fit most wrists.

Width: a slim bangle is subtle and easy to combine, while a wide bangle or statement bangle is an eye-catcher. On a slim wrist, a finer bangle often looks better.

Gold, silver or colour: the metal bangles mainly come in gold tone; Avril, Lova and Yael are also available in silver tone. Prefer colour? Choose a resin or acrylic bangle. They're easy to combine with gold-tone jewellery.

Combining bangles

Bangles are ideal for stacking, because their sturdy shape keeps them sitting neatly side by side. Pair a smooth bangle with a fine chain bracelet for a mix of shapes, or wear two or three bangles of different widths together. The colourful resin and acrylic bangles look even better when you combine several colours from the same series. For a calm arm party, stick to one metal colour and wear your statement bangle on the other wrist. Find more styling tips in stacked bracelets and every style in our bracelets. A bangle with a heart also pairs beautifully with other heart jewellery.

Materials and care

The metal bangles are made from premium stainless steel. The gold-tone styles have a gold-plated finish, many with a PVD coating; according to the product information, Jol, Fem, Yael and the gold-tone Avril have a 2.5 micron coating. The statement bangles are made from resin (Fleur and Nienke) or acrylic (May).

The stainless steel bangles, such as Ilva, Amira, Tammy, Fem, Yael and Lova, are waterproof. You can wear them in the shower, in the sea and in the pool. That doesn't apply to resin and acrylic bangles: take them off when showering, swimming and working out. Also take off Jol with tiger's eye when you're around water, as natural stone is more delicate than steel. According to the product information, the steel bangles are hypoallergenic; if you have sensitive skin, check the product page. Avoid direct contact with perfume and body lotion and polish your bangle now and then with a soft, dry cloth.

Frequently asked questions

What is a bangle?

A bangle is a sturdy, round bracelet without links or a chain. There are closed bangles that you slide over your hand, open bangles that you slip onto your wrist from the side and stretch bangles that move with you. At Lundholm you'll find stainless steel bangles in gold and silver tone and colourful statement bangles made from resin and acrylic.

What size bangle do I need?

With an open bangle or cuff, you don't need to choose a size: it's one size and you can gently bend it a little wider or narrower. Stretch bangles move with your wrist. A closed bangle slides over your hand. If you're unsure about your size, choose an open or stretch bangle, as they fit most wrists.

Can I wear a bangle in the shower?

That depends on the material. The stainless steel bangles, such as Ilva, Amira, Tammy, Fem, Yael and Lova, are waterproof and can go in the shower, the sea and the pool. Take resin or acrylic bangles and Jol with tiger's eye off when showering and swimming, so they stay beautiful for longer.

How do you wear several bangles at once?

Combine bangles of different widths, for example a slim smooth bangle with a wider statement bangle. Add a fine chain bracelet for a mix of shapes. Stick to one metal colour for a calm look, or combine several resin or acrylic colours from the same series for a playful effect. Two to four bangles on one wrist is usually enough.

What is the difference between a bangle and a cuff?

A bangle is a sturdy round bracelet that can be closed or open. A cuff is an open bangle: it has an opening on one side, so you slip it onto your wrist from the side and can make it slightly wider or narrower. At Lundholm, Ilva and Amira are examples of an open cuff.
