What is an ear party?

An ear party is an ear full of small earrings that come together as one look. You wear something different in each piercing and finish it off with an ear cuff. You don't need a whole row of piercings: two piercings and an ear cuff already make a lovely combination. Start small, play with shapes and see what suits you.

How to build your ear party

Start at the bottom of your ear and work your way up. The higher you go, the smaller the earring. That keeps the look calm and balanced. Want to try it out first? In the ear party builder you put together your own ear and instantly see which earrings go with it.

First piercing: a small hoop or a charm

Your first piercing can take something slightly bigger. Think of a small hoop or a huggie with a charm. The Avélie huggies have a teardrop charm in cubic zirconia that catches the light beautifully. Prefer no stone? The Thalia are twisted hoops of 1.8 cm, in gold and silver tone.

Second and third piercing: mini studs and huggies

Then go for something smaller. The Nikki studs have a single cubic zirconia stone and come in 3 to 6 mm, so you can go one size down with each piercing. For a small ring, choose the Delia hoops with cubic zirconia stones, from 11 mm. You'll find more small styles among all our studs.

Higher up your ear: ear cuffs and ear climbers

On the helix (the upper rim of your ear) or the conch (the middle of your ear), you wear an ear cuff. You simply slide it onto the edge of your ear, so you don't need a piercing for it. That way you can grow your ear party without a new piercing. The Meriam is smooth and rounded and is sold individually. The Sandy has a floral pattern and comes in gold and silver tone. An ear climber, on the other hand, goes in a regular piercing in your earlobe. It climbs up along the edge of your ear, like the Sterre ear climbers with four tiny stars. Browse all ear cuffs and climbers.

Ready-made combinations

Not sure where to start? You can copy these combinations straight away.

Gold and minimal

The Avélie huggies in your first piercing, the Nikki studs in 3 mm in your second and the Meriam ear cuff high up on your ear. Calm and warm, with just a little sparkle.

Silver and playful

The Thalia hoops in silver tone in your first piercing, the Tropisk monstera leaves in your second and the Sandy ear cuff in silver tone above them. Fresh and light, with a cheerful twist.

Gold and silver mixed

Start with the Hera: studs with a cross design in gold and silver tone in one piece. Add the Delia hoops in 11 mm in silver tone and finish with the Nikki in gold tone in your third piercing. The Hera ties both colours together, so the mix just works.

Only one piercing?

You can still create an ear party. Wear the Sterre ear climbers in your piercing and slide the Liz ear cuff onto the edge of your ear higher up. One piercing, and still a full ear.

Mixing gold and silver

Wearing gold and silver together is absolutely fine, and it often looks especially good. It works best when one colour takes the lead and the other acts as an accent, for example two gold-tone earrings and one silver-tone. A two-tone earring like the Hera makes the transition even easier. Browse our gold-tone earrings and silver-tone earrings to create your own mix.

Which earrings suit your face and hair?

There are no fixed rules, but a few tips can help. If you have a round face, longer shapes look lovely, such as a huggie with a charm. With a narrow or long face, round hoops and little balls add some width. An angular face looks softer with rounded shapes and flowers. Do you wear your hair short, or often in a ponytail or bun? Then your whole ear is on show and an ear cuff or climber really stands out. With long, loose hair, it's mainly your first piercing that shows. Choose something with shine or a charm there, so it peeks out through your hair.

How to keep your earrings looking their best

All earrings in this collection are made of premium stainless steel. Our stainless steel jewellery can handle water, so you can simply wear it in the shower, in the pool or while working out. If an earring has a pearl look, it's best to take it off before you shower or swim. The gold-tone earrings keep their colour with normal wear, and you get a 1-year Lundholm guarantee against discolouration. Avoid direct contact with perfume and body lotion, give your earrings a polish now and then with a soft, dry cloth and store them separately so they don't rub against each other.

An ear party as a gift

Small earrings make a lovely gift, because they suit almost everyone. Give one pair of mini studs, or put together a set of three for a complete ear party. Don't know how many piercings someone has? Then an ear cuff is a clever choice. Every piece ships in luxury gift packaging, and when you order from our own webshop you always get a free gift bag. Still undecided? The Gift Finder helps you choose with three quick questions. You have 14 days to return your order.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ear party?

An ear party is a combination of several small earrings in one ear. You wear a different earring in each piercing and finish it off with an ear cuff. Usually you start at the bottom with something slightly bigger and go smaller as you move up.

How many piercings do I need for an ear party?

One piercing is enough. Wear an ear climber in your piercing and slide an ear cuff onto the edge of your ear, and you still have a full ear. With two or three piercings you have even more options.

Do I need a piercing for an ear cuff?

No. You slide an ear cuff onto the edge of your ear, for example on the helix or the conch. That way you can grow your ear party without a new piercing. In this collection you'll find the Meriam, the Sandy and the Liz, among others.

Can I wear these earrings in the shower?

All earrings in this collection are made of premium stainless steel. Our stainless steel jewellery can handle water, so showering, swimming and working out are no problem. It's best to take off an earring with a pearl look. The gold-tone earrings keep their colour with normal wear, and you get a 1-year Lundholm guarantee against discolouration.

Are ear party earrings a good gift?

Yes. Small earrings suit almost everyone, and an ear cuff is a great choice when you don't know how many piercings someone has. Every piece ships in luxury gift packaging, and when you order from our own webshop you always get a free gift bag. You have 14 days to return your order.
