Lundholm Sinterklaas gift for her — gold-tone bracelet with hearts and rose quartz in a luxury gift box

Sinterklaas Eve, the gift-giving evening of the Dutch Sinterklaas celebration, falls on Saturday 5 December 2026, and in the weeks before it half the Netherlands puts a shoe by the fireplace again. For children that is easy: a chocolate initial, a small toy, done. But what do you put in the shoe of your girlfriend, your mother or your sister? Something small that still feels real, without burning through your Christmas budget before you have started.

Jewelry is almost suspiciously well suited to it. It literally fits in a shoe, it is nearly always one size, and a small box never feels like filler. In this guide you will read what size and what amount suit Sinterklaas, which pieces work best for which recipient, and twenty concrete ideas under € 25 from our own collection. All in premium stainless steel: waterproof, skin-friendly and made to last. And further down we explain how the Germans do it, because for them the shoe is filled on the night of 5 to 6 December.

What actually fits in a shoe?

A shoe gift has two constraints: small, and not too expensive. Jewelry meets the first one effortlessly — a box with stud earrings or a ring is about the size of a pack of gum.

Small, delicate and ready to wear: the Femme heart stud earrings fit in any shoe.

The second constraint is more a matter of custom. In the Netherlands a shoe gift in the weeks before 5 December usually sits between € 5 and € 15. The gift on the evening itself may be a little more: € 15 to € 30 is a normal guideline, certainly when names are drawn. The adjustable Jiva statement ring at € 6.95 falls squarely in the first category; the Arina hoop earrings with heart at € 12.95 sit just above it. Looking for more options in that range? Then have a look at our gift ideas under € 20 for her.

Whether a gift feels cheap, incidentally, rarely comes down to the price but to the material. Gold-plated premium stainless steel does not discolor, while cheap costume jewelry goes green after three wears. She will not notice that difference on the day itself, but she will in February.

Tip: putting out the shoe more than once? Then spread it out deliberately. Start with something small around € 7 to € 15, and save the piece of around € 25 for the evening itself. That way you build something up instead of playing your best card straight away.

Stud earrings: the safest small gift

If you are unsure, give stud earrings. There is no size to get wrong, almost every woman wears them, they sit under a hat and they do not catch on a scarf — handy in winter. They are also small enough to give as a shoe gift without it feeling excessive.

Small and subtle: the Fiene tulip and Max ball stud earrings, worn.

If you do not know her taste that well, pick something neutral: Max ball studs at € 14.95 are subtle and go with everything. If you do know her well, a symbol becomes more fun. Klara four-leaf clover studs at € 19.95 for a bit of luck, Franca tree of life studs at € 25.00 if she likes meaning, or Nikki cubic zirconia studs at € 22.95 for a little extra sparkle. Not sure which style suits her ear? Our guide to all the types of earrings will help you further. The complete overview is in the stud earrings collection.

Adjustable rings: you do not need to know her size

Giving a ring is nerve-racking, because nine times out of ten you do not know her ring size. There is a simple solution for that: an adjustable ring. The back is open, so you can gently bend it a little wider or narrower with your fingers. It therefore fits almost any finger, and if she would rather wear it on her index finger than her ring finger, that works fine too.

Style-wise you can go in any direction. Elia at € 19.95 is minimalist and goes with everything, Milea at € 17.95 has a softly waving line, Jane at € 22.95 is a little sturdier and Idun at € 27.95 adds color with a natural stone. If you like something more modern, look at the Aveline open link ring at € 27.50. You will find every model under adjustable rings, and if you do want to know her size for a later gift: our guide to measuring ring size sets out three methods.

Delicate bracelets and necklaces

If you want to give something that feels a little more personal than earrings, a delicate bracelet is the logical step. A chain bracelet is the safest choice: it sits loosely around the wrist and almost always has an extender chain, so there is nothing to measure. Alice at € 22.95 has two interlocking hearts, Seya at € 22.95 combines hearts with rose quartz, and Ellen at € 31.95 is clean and minimal for someone who does not want charms.

A necklace works too, but do pay attention to the length. The Lovez necklace with heart pendant at € 21.95 is 40 cm (15.7 inch) and sits just on or above the collarbone — the length that suits most women and almost every neckline. In doubt? Then read first which necklace length suits her. You will find more options under bracelets and necklaces.

By recipient: what works for whom?

The same amount, a completely different choice. This is how we would go about it.

Your partner

Here it is allowed to be personal, but not heavy yet — save the grand gesture for Christmas. The Lovez necklace with heart at € 21.95 or the Alice bracelet at € 22.95 hit exactly that note: clearly chosen with care, without feeling like a proposal. Already looking for something to go under the tree? Then we have a separate guide to a Christmas gift for your girlfriend.

Your mother

Mothers are difficult, because they have everything and want nothing. Something with meaning works best. Grace birthstone stud earrings at € 29.99 can be chosen in the color of her own birth month, or — often nicer still — in that of her first grandchild. More ideas in the same price range are in our guide to a gift under € 30 for your mother.

Your daughter, sister or niece

A younger audience wants something with a wink. Kaya smiley studs at € 17.95 or Max ball studs at € 14.95 always go down well. Extra practical: they are waterproof, so they can stay in during showering and swimming — one less thing to argue about.

A friend

With friends the charm is in the symbol. Oline lotus studs at € 25.00 stand for calm and starting over, Klara four-leaf clover at € 19.95 is simply a kind wish. Both small enough to stay light-hearted. More in that range: our guide with gift ideas for a friend under € 25.

A colleague

At the office you want something lovely without a message. So no hearts, but a neutral shape: the Marit minimalist ring at € 25.00 or Elia at € 19.95. Are you drawing names with a fixed amount? Then have a look at our guide to Secret Santa gifts under € 20 — the same logic, a different label.

And in Germany? Nikolaus on Sunday 6 December

Worth knowing if you have family or friends in Germany: the Germans do not celebrate 5 December but 6 December. On the evening of the fifth, children (and plenty of adults) polish their shoe or boot and put it by the door or the fireplace. The next morning — a Sunday in 2026 — there is something in it. Usually chocolate, mandarins, nuts and, for adults, something small such as a piece of jewelry.

The big difference with the Dutch version: in Germany, Nikolaus stands completely apart from Christmas. Where the Dutch often move straight from Sinterklaas to a single Christmas present, Nikolaus there is its own small moment. The real presents are not opened until Heiligabend, Christmas Eve on Thursday 24 December — so not on Christmas Day. German families count a third moment as well: the Adventskalender, the advent calendar, which has to be filled before the first Sunday of Advent on Sunday 29 November. How they go about it is covered in our guide to filling an advent calendar.

Sending a parcel elsewhere in the EU? Count on 3 to 7 working days; outside the EU it takes 5 to 14 working days. Shipping costs € 3.95 and jewelry ships free from € 75.

Ordering in time for 5 December

Order before 15:00 CET on a working day and your parcel goes out the same day. Sinterklaas Eve falls on Saturday 5 December in 2026, so order by Wednesday 25 November (within the EU) or Monday 16 November (outside the EU), or earlier if you can — that gives you margin if something goes wrong. Jewelry ships worldwide for € 3.95 and free from € 75. Three small gifts together will often take you just over that line.

Sending to Germany for Nikolaus on 6 December? Then order by Wednesday 25 November at the latest — that still falls inside Black Week, which runs from 23 to 30 November. Later than that and it may well still arrive, but with 3 to 7 working days that is not a guarantee. Really late? Then read our guide to a last-minute gift that still arrives on time.

Frequently asked questions about Sinterklaas gifts for her

What is a good Sinterklaas gift for a grown woman?

Something small that she will actually use. Jewelry works well because it is one size, fits in a shoe and feels more expensive than it is: stud earrings from € 14.95, an adjustable ring from € 6.95 or a chain bracelet around € 22. Stay under € 25 and save the bigger gift for Christmas.

How much do you spend on a Sinterklaas gift?

For a shoe gift in the weeks before 5 December, € 5 to € 15 is usual. For the gift on the evening itself, € 15 to € 30 is a normal guideline. If you are drawing names with a fixed amount, you simply stick to that amount — that is the whole point of drawing names.

What jewelry do you give when you do not know her ring size?

Choose an adjustable ring. It has an open back that you gently bend a little wider or narrower, so it fits almost any finger. Not sure about her style either? Then stud earrings are safer still: there is no size at all to get wrong.

When do the Germans celebrate Nikolaus?

On 6 December, a Sunday in 2026. On the evening of 5 December they polish their shoe or boot and put it by the door or the fireplace; the next morning there is something in it. In Germany, Nikolaus stands completely apart from Christmas: the big presents are not opened until Heiligabend, Christmas Eve on Thursday 24 December.

When should I order for 5 December?

Order before 15:00 CET on a working day and your parcel goes out the same day. For Sinterklaas Eve on Saturday 5 December 2026, order by Wednesday 25 November within the EU or by Monday 16 November outside the EU. Sending to Germany for Nikolaus on 6 December? Then count on 3 to 7 working days and order by Wednesday 25 November at the latest.

Does it come with gift packaging?

Yes. Every piece of Lundholm women's jewelry is delivered in a luxury gift box. So there is nothing left for you to wrap — handy when you still have five shoes to fill the evening before.

Whether you are filling one shoe or have drawn a name for the evening itself: small is fine, as long as it is chosen with care. Start from what she already wears — gold-tone or silver-tone, bold or delicate — and pick something to go with it. You will find more inspiration in our guide to giving jewelry as a gift.
