Is waterproof jewelry really waterproof?
Short answer: yes. Our jewelry is made from 316L stainless steel (surgical steel) with an 18k PVD coating. That combination is waterproof, colorfast and hypoallergenic. You can shower, wash your hands, work out and swim while wearing it, without your jewelry discoloring or tarnishing.
Why doesn't our jewelry discolor?
Inexpensive jewelry is often gold-plated brass, or a thin layer over a base metal core. On contact with water, sweat, perfume or air, that core oxidizes and your jewelry turns black or green. 316L stainless steel doesn't rust, and the PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition) is applied at a molecular level — which is why the color stays beautiful far longer than with standard plating.

Hypoallergenic and nickel-free

Is anything off limits? A few tips
- Showering, washing your hands and swimming in the sea or a pool: all fine. After chlorine or salt water, just rinse your jewelry with clean water.
- Sauna and steam room: fine; rinsing afterwards keeps it looking good for longer.
- Put your jewelry on last (after perfume and body lotion) and take it off first.
- Store it dry and separately, for example in the gift box it comes in.
