Necklace Trends 2026-2027: 7 Necklaces You Are Seeing Now

Which necklaces are in style right now? This season it's all about chunky gold chains, loosely layered necklaces, pearls worn in a modern way and the return of the choker. Long necklaces with beads are coming back, natural stones bring warm tones like brown and green, and pendants with meaning are more loved than ever. Below you'll find the 7 necklace trends for 2026 and 2027, with the necklaces that show each trend best. Pictured: Kajsa chain necklace · Jacqueline beaded necklace The short answer These are the necklaces that are in style now, at the end of 2026 and heading into 2027: Chunky gold chains: bold link chains worn alone or paired with a delicate pendant. Layers, but loose: two or three necklaces in different lengths, worn casually together. Pearls, worn modern: a single pearl on a fine chain or tiny pearls spaced along a gold chain. The choker is back: short and close to the neck, from pearl choker to sleek link chain. Long necklaces and beads: a long necklace down to your chest, often with beads or colour. Natural stones and warm colours: brown, green and pink instead of only gold. Pendants with meaning: a birthstone, locket or heart that says something about you. We see these trends on the runways, in fashion magazines and in what you search for. Searches for "choker" are up almost 30% compared with the weeks before, and more and more people are looking for a locket or a name necklace. 1. Chunky gold chains Bold gold links are the statement of the season. Fashion houses such as Hermès and Saint Laurent pair chunky chains with finer pendants, and Marie Claire also names chunky necklaces as one of the big trends of 2026. The best part: one chunky chain instantly finishes a simple jumper or white blouse. KajsaOval links · 40 + 5 cmView → BeauClassic link chainView → ViggoMen's · cuban link, silverView → Styling tipWearing a chunky chain? Keep your earrings small, like a pair of studs. That way the necklace stays the focal point. 2. Layers, but loose Layering is here to stay, but it's getting looser. Instead of perfectly measured layers, you now wear two or three necklaces in different lengths casually on top of each other, as Bustle describes it too. Mix a fine chain with a pendant necklace, or choose a three-layer necklace that already falls perfectly. Also read how to layer necklaces without tangles. 3. Pearls, worn modern Pearls have been back for a few seasons, but they're worn more playfully every time. Think of a single pearl on a fine gold chain, or tiny pearls spaced along a gold necklace. Marie Claire names pearl pendants and sea-inspired jewellery as one of the trends of 2026. Wear them over a turtleneck, a T-shirt or a cardigan: that contrast is exactly what makes it modern. The choker is back The choker is making a comeback, but more grown-up than in the nineties. You wear it short and close to the neck, as your one standout necklace. Searches for "choker" are up almost 30% on a month ago. A pearl choker is the soft, elegant take on this trend. Pictured Mathilda, the pearl choker One row of small pearls with a gold bead right in the middle. The Mathilda is 38.5 cm with a 5 cm extension chain, so you can wear it as a true choker or just a little looser. Lovely with an open neckline or a blouse collar. View the Mathilda → 5. Long necklaces and beads After years of short, delicate chains, long necklaces are coming back. Bustle sees the long pendant necklace returning in a sleeker version, and Who What Wear names oversized beaded necklaces as one of the autumn trends of 2026. Wear a long necklace over a plain dress or a fitted top to show it off best. Pictured: Dahlia long necklace with beads and flowers, 95 cm with a 5 cm extension Fancy more of a statement? The Jacqueline has twenty large, translucent beads in a warm amber tone. Exactly the kind of chunky beads you see everywhere right now. 6. Natural stones and warm colours Gold remains the base, but colour is coming in. This season's colours are warm and deep: chocolate brown, mahogany and muted green. A natural stone pendant is the easiest way to wear them. Tiger's eye brings warm brown, green stone feels fresh and rose quartz adds a soft pink. Woman & Home names carefully curated charms and pendants as a trend for 2026, and searches for lockets and name necklaces keep growing. Our stainless steel necklaces are waterproof, hypoallergenic and tarnish resistant, so you can wear them every day. Frequently asked questions Which necklaces are in style right now?At the end of 2026 and heading into 2027, chunky gold chains, loose layers, modern pearls, the choker, long beaded necklaces, natural stones in warm colours and pendants with meaning are the most popular. How do you wear several necklaces at once?Choose two or three necklaces in different lengths, for example 40, 45 and 50 cm, and mix a fine chain with a pendant necklace. A three-layer necklace is the easiest place to start. Which necklace suits which neckline? The complete guide

Which necklace suits which neckline? The rule of thumb: the necklace either follows or contrasts the line of your neckline. With a V-neck you wear a short necklace that echoes the V, with a round neck a longer necklace (50 cm or more) that creates space, and with a turtleneck a long statement necklace that falls over the fabric. Below you will find the right length in centimetres for every neckline, a quick chart, a length guide and matching necklaces from our own collection. Pictured: Cecile tiger eye necklace (40 + 5.5 cm) · Dahlia long necklace (95 + 5 cm) The short answer Choose the length based on where your neckline starts and ends: V-neck: 40 to 45 cm with a small pendant, drop or Y-necklace that ends 2 to 5 cm above the point of the V.Round neck: 50 cm with a pendant, so it sits just below the neckline.Turtleneck or high neck: a long necklace of 80 to 90 cm over the fabric.Strapless and off-the-shoulder: short, 38 to 42 cm, at the base of the neck.Boat neck: 45 cm with a small, vertical pendant on the collarbone.Open-collar blouse: a chain necklace of 40 to 50 cm in the opening. Not sure? A necklace with an extender chain or a double-layer necklace works with almost any neckline. Quick chart: which necklace for which neckline? Find your neckline and see at a glance which length and shape look best, and what to skip. Mind the extender: a 40 + 5 cm necklace can be worn from 40 to 45 cm. Over a chunky knit every necklace sits a few centimetres higher. More tips in our guide to measuring ring size and necklace length. 1. Round neck → 50 cm with a pendant A round neckline (T-shirt, crew-neck dress) already fills the space up to your collarbone, so a short necklace disappears against the fabric. Go for 50 cm: the pendant falls just below the neckline, on bare skin or on the fabric, and adds length. A pendant of 1 to 2 cm is plenty; with a high round neck you can go up to 55 cm. The classic is the Mera heart necklace (50 + 5 cm, gold or silver tone). New: the Cherie with a puffy heart and the Una with a round natural stone. Cherie New · puffy heart, 50 + 5 cm View → Una New · tiger eye, 50 cm View → Kerstin Silver tone · 50 + 7 cm View → 2. V-neck → short, following the V With a V-neck one rule always works: echo the V. A short necklace with a small pendant follows the line of your neckline and ends above the lowest point of the V. Elegant, without competing with your décolletage. What necklace to wear with a V-neck? How to choose Length: the pendant ends 2 to 5 cm above the point of the V. For a high V that is usually 40 to 42 cm, for a regular V 42 to 45 cm and for a deep V 45 to 50 cm. Shape: a drop, a small vertical pendant or a Y-necklace repeats the V. A small round stone works too. Thickness: fine. A chunky chain or a tight choker cuts the V off. Avoid: a pendant that lands right on the point of the V or on the edge of the fabric. Earrings: small to medium, like a huggie or a drop. The necklace is your accent. Pictured Monique – the pendant just above the V A fine 39 cm chain with a 4 cm extender and a single round cubic zirconia. The pendant sits well above the point of a wrap or V-neck, exactly as it should. View the Monique → Ariane CZ drop, 43 + 5.5 cm View → Ellinor New · Y-necklace with drop View → Anah CZ pendant, 45 + 5 cm View → Styling tipDeep V or a wrap dress? Choose a Y-necklace like the Ellinor: the long drop follows your neckline downwards. Complete sets per dress, from earrings to bracelet, are in what jewelry to wear with a dress. 3. Turtleneck or high neck → long and statement On a turtleneck or high neck a short, fine necklace does not work: it disappears into the fabric. A long necklace of 80 cm or more falls freely over the sweater and breaks up the plain surface. One piece that finishes a whole winter-knit outfit. Prefer shorter? Then layer on top of the turtleneck: a sturdy, flat chain high on the collar, like the Evelyn snake chain, with a pendant necklace of about 45 cm underneath. Thick fabric makes every necklace a few centimetres shorter, so use the extender. Pictured: Bo necklace with open round pendant (38 + 7 cm) Ava New · long, 85 + 5 cm View → Dahlia New · beads, 95 + 5 cm View → Evelyn Flat snake chain, 41 + 5 cm View → 4. Strapless or off-the-shoulder → short at the base of the neck With bare shoulders your neckline is the stage. A short necklace of 38 to 40 cm that sits close to the base of the neck makes the most of it and lets your collarbones do the work. Off-the-shoulder can be a little looser: up to 45 cm, or two fine layers on your collarbone. Avoid long necklaces; they cross the horizontal line of your top or dress. Wearing big earrings? Then skip the necklace. Rosan Real amethyst, 38 + 7 cm View → Esme CZ heart, 37 + 5 cm View → Stina Curb chain 5 mm, 40 + 5 cm View → 5. Boat neck → mid-length on the collarbone A boat neck runs horizontally, so you want a vertical accent to balance it. A 45 cm necklace with a small pendant ends on the collarbone and breaks up the wide line subtly: present, never too much. A rectangular or drop-shaped pendant works best. Talia Tiger eye bar, 45 + 5 cm View → Hilma Faux pearl pendant, 45 cm View → Good to know: the necklaces in this article are waterproof and hypoallergenic, but faux pearls (like the Hilma) are not waterproof. Take them off before you shower or swim. 6. Shirt or blouse → chain necklace over the collar On a (partly) open blouse a chain necklace works better than a fine chain with a pendant: the links add structure next to the collar. Choose 40 to 50 cm so the necklace sits in the opening and does not vanish behind the buttons. The further you unbutton, the longer the necklace can be. Choose the length so the pendant ends 2 to 5 cm above the point of the V: usually 40 to 45 cm, 45 to 50 cm for a deep V. Avoid a chunky choker and a pendant that lands right on the edge of the fabric. What necklace length suits a round neck?50 cm or slightly longer. The pendant then falls just below the neckline and creates vertical length. Shorter, and the necklace disappears against the fabric. What necklace goes with a turtleneck?A long necklace of 80 to 90 cm that falls freely over the fabric, ideally with a bigger pendant. Or layer: a sturdy, flat chain high on the turtleneck with a pendant of about 45 cm underneath. A fine short chain disappears into the collar. What necklace goes with a strapless dress?A short necklace of 38 to 42 cm at the base of the neck, or no necklace at all and statement earrings instead. A long necklace falls over the edge of the fabric and interrupts the line. What is choker length?35 to 40 cm: the necklace sits close to the base of the neck. Lovely with strapless, bandeau and off-the-shoulder. What necklace goes with a square neckline?A short, flat necklace or an angular pendant of 40 to 45 cm that sits inside the square of the neckline. How do you layer necklaces without tangling?Keep at least 5 cm between the layers and combine one fine chain with one link or bead chain. Or choose a ready-made double-layer necklace: it always stays in place. How do I measure which necklace length suits me?Place a shoelace or string around your neck where you want the necklace and measure it. Compare that with the product length.
